  • Imam-ul-Haq is a Pakistani cricketer who scored a century on his ODI debut. He is one of the few cricketers who has made centuries in both innings of a test match. He is the nephew of Pakistani cricket legend Inzamam-ul-Haq.
  • His family moved to Multan, Pakistan from present-day Hansi in Haryana, India during the Partition of India in 1947.
  • He got interested in cricket after watching his uncle Inzamam play cricket. He did not want to become a professional cricketer; however, his school had a good sports culture, and his coach Saud Khan noticed his talent and encouraged him to become a cricketer.
  • In the final of the 2016-17 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, he scored 200 runs not out for Habib Bank Limited.
  • In the final of the 2017 National T20 Cup, he scored 59 runs not out to help his team Lahore Region Blues win the tournament. He was awarded Man of the Match for his stellar performance.

  • He scored 57 runs in the second innings of his first test against England.
  • In a test match against Australia in 2022, he scored 157 runs in the first innings and 111 runs not out in the second innings. He put up a partnership of 252 runs with Abdullah Shafique for the first wicket, which became Pakistan’s highest partnership against Australia for any wicket. He won the Man of the Match award for his performance.

  • PCB Executive Chef Kazim Hussain revealed during an interview that Imam is very strict about his diet and likes to have fruit and yoghurt during lunch.
  • During a physical fitness test for selection to the Pakistan team, he did 61 pushups in one minute.

  • He was hit on the left elbow by England pacer Mark Wood with a 143 kph delivery in a test match in 2019. He fell to the ground and was taken to a hospital for X-ray tests. The medical tests did not reveal any serious injury, and he returned to batting later in the innings.

  • He collided with the boundary boards while fielding for his team Balochistan in a match against Southern Punjab in the National T20 Cup 2021. He fell on the ground, was treated by the physiotherapist, and later carried off the field on a stretcher. He was taken to a hospital for medical tests which did not reveal any major injury.
